At the University Health Centre we have appointments available every working day for acute illness. This clinic is a nurse led service and is primarily aimed at patients who are asking for a "same day" or "soon" appointment.
The nurses who run this clinic are Rita Miller and Debra Brabbs. They are fully qualified to treat minor illness and to prescribe medication. Any problems that they are unable to deal with will be passed to a Doctor within a timescale appropriate to the seriousness of the problem.
The sorts of routine problems that patients normally present to this service are coughs, colds, earaches, sore throats, gynaecological problems and urinary infections. It is also a source of general health care and advice.
