Book Appointment

Appointments can be booked in person, by telephone or by using our Internet access service.

Some appointments must not be made on-line because it is important that they are booked with clinicians who are qualified to treat your problem. Instructions are sent out when you register for this service - please refer to them as frequent mis-use will result in your access being denied.

Notes:

Always ensure your appointment is booked at the surgery where you are registered, our appointments are allocated according to the demand and list size at each site, you may not use appointments at other sites.

Please contact your usual surgery if you need to be seen by a specific clinician and are having trouble finding an available appointment.

Booking Nurse appointments online. We currently employ 6 practice nurses; they each have different skills and specialities which mean that we have to limit the types of appointment that you can book on-line so that appointments are not made with an inappropriate nurse.

The rules relating to booking nurse appointments are given below and our Reception Team will be happy to advise you about making appropriate appointments.

  • Blood tests cannot be booked on line. Please contact your usual surgery's reception team to make an appointment. Appointments are available every day at sites across the practice.
  • Travel appointments cannot be booked on-line (although information and pre-appointment questionnaires can be found on our website). Please contact your usual surgery to make an appointment.
  • Ear syringing appointments must be a double appointment so you need to book 2 consecutive appointments. You should use drops in your ear for five days prior to your appointment. These appointments should be made with Elizabeth Rowley.
  • Smear tests - do not book these online as not all of our nurses are qualified to do these tests.
  • Acute illness appointments should be booked with our Nurse Practitioners – Rita Miller and Debra Brabbs.
  • Minor illness advice leaflets are available in the reception lobby at the health centre if you need advice or from this website.
  • Contraception appointments should be made at contraception clinics – if you are requesting the contraceptive pill for the first time then you must book a double appointment. If you cannot attend a contraception clinic please phone or call in for an appointment, as not all our nurses are family planning trained.
  • Changes in contraceptive pill, annual checks and contraception injections are single appointments.Do not book appointments for IUCD fitting or Implanon on-line.
  • Wound dressing appointments cannot be booked on-line as this service is provided by our District Nurses team and not by our practice nurses. Please contact your usual surgery to make an appointment. Clinics are available across the practice.
  • Smoking cessation appointments cannot be booked on-line. Please contact your usual surgery to make an appointment.

If you book a single appointment when a double is indicated in the notes above you may be asked to rebook if the nurse does not have time to help with your problem during a single appointment.
