You should always dispose of needles in a yellow / orange sharps disposal box (similar to the one shown above). Unfortunately the University Health Centre cannot collect used Sharps boxes from you, the arrangements for collection are given below.
Replacement 1L Sharps Boxes are available to Type 1 diabetics via prescription - ask at your local surgery.
To dispose of Sharps Boxes:
Contact the Waste Strategy Team at the City of York Council to arrange collection by telephoning them on 553209. They collect on Fridays, please make sure they know where to collect your Sharps box from.
These arrangements also apply to those of you living off campus.
